Manufacturing Campus

Posted by Joseph Wurcher on October 14, 2006

Similar to a tradional University, AU this year is divided into campuses. The manufacturing campus will be located on the 4th floor in the Venetian Conference Center. Most courses will be in the Marcello Ballrooms (6 classes/labs) and 2 classes will be across the hall in the Lando Ballrooms. A logical meeting place for anyone trying to meet up with other attendees in the same discipline is the MSD Lounge (not sure if this will be the actual name on signs yet), in front of the Marcello Ballrooms, behind the elevator bank. The Manufacturing Campus will share the 4th floor with the General Design Campus and most of the AutoCAD 3D, CAD Management as well as the Customization & Programing courses will be there.

Bill Fane, Kevin Schneider, and JD Mather are teaching some of the most popular Inventor classes at AU this year. Lynn Allen and Thom Tremblay are teaching their “Making the move to Inventor” class on Thursday afternoon (MA33-3). Jay Tedeschi from Autodesk and Alan Kalameja, back after taking a break from AU for a few years, will teach a couple of very popular hands-on sessions.
New in the Manufacturing space this year will be AliasStudio classes. Autodesk purchased the company this year and it will be interesting to get the feedback from the AU crowd on those classes and products.

AutoCAD Electical will have six sessions this year at AU and according to Nate Holt a gathering is in the works of those using AutoCAD Electric the day before AU.

  1. LeeAnn, who manages the MSD Campus, just confirmed it will be called the MSD Lounge.
